Public Liability and Risk Management

This Liability policy has been designed to protect Football NSW Ltd & all Associations, Clubs, Players, Officials, Centres, Branches, Members & Volunteers should they be held responsible for their actions in the organizing & conducting of football related activities.

The policy includes the participation risk of players.

The limit of Indemnity is $25,000,000 any one occurrence in respect of Public Liability and in aggregate with respect to Product Liability.

For the assistance of Clubs, we have attached to this site a copy of the current Certificate of Currency ( C of C) as proof of Club Public Liability Insurance for both Seasons 2011 & 2012. Simply click on the link you require to open the document.

To complete the C of C form, enter your Club details in the editable fields :–

  • Enter the name of the Club/Association & if required, the name of the Event.
  • There is an area for Remarks,& the space provided enables you to insert the name of a Principal ( eg your local Council) . If there is more than one Principal to be named, you can produce multiple copies if necessary.
  • Finally enter the date into the area provide at the bottom of the form & then Print your C of C.

A Deductible of $500 applies to each & every occurrence under this policy with effect from 31 December 2011..

All incidents with a possibility of a liability claim being made against this policy must be reported to FNSW as soon as possible & the Club/Official is required to provide a detailed report to FNSW as to the nature of the occurrence, together with details from any witness to the occurrence. It is important that no admission of liability or offer to pay be made by any Insured under this policy.

A full copy of this Public & Product Liability policy is below & the wording of the policy will take precedence over this brief summary.

In support of the FNSW Risk Management plans, Clubs are requested to utilize the attached Ground Inspection Check List as a means of ensuring that all care is taken to avoid injuries to participants & spectators at football fixtures. Pitch & immediate surroundings should be regularly checked by officials to identify & correct any exposure to injury of players or the public. Similarly canteens must be controlled by senior members or volunteers to ensure quality of consumables as well as avoidance of injury to staff & others.

Any hazards identified must be corrected by the Club or advised urgently to the owner/s of the facility to ensure rectification.
