The Accident Support Program operates Australia wide and does NOT afford any cover for members whilst engaged in footballing activities overseas.
As mentioned earlier, the Flyer produced by FNSW and distributed to your Club each year provides most of the information required but we add the following information for your assistance. Again, this is only a summary and the actual policy document provided must be read for full details of covers provided or excluded.
It should be noted that under this policy, disablements resulting directly from any injury, medical condition, infirmity or weakness known to have existed prior to the commencement of this policy are not covered.
Cover under the Accident Support Program extends to include Players, volunteers, officials, committee members, coaches, trainers and referees whilst invloved in Football NSW activities.
The Accident Support program is designed to supplement Loss of Income & Non – Medicare Expenses & is part of the Football NSW Ltd Risk Management strategy.
As Football NSW manages these Insurances for footballers & members in the State, the following increases in benefits have been secured over recent years at no extra cost to players :–
Season 2007
- Increased Physiotherapy benefits from $300 to $350 per claim.
Season 2008
Increased the percentage recoverable from medical accounts from 75% to 85%.
Season 2009
- Increased benefit for Loss of Wages from 75% to 85% of average weekly earnings, or $200 whichever is less.
- Increased household/injury claims from 75% to 85%.
Season 2010
- Funeral benefits payable increased to $5000 from $2500.
- Increased Capital benefits from $10,000 to $20,000 for under 18 year olds.
- Increased Capital benefits from $50,000 to $100,000 for over 18 year olds
- Expanded period for lodgement of claims to 90 days in lieu of 60 days.
Season 2011
- Added “Modification Benefit” as detailed above, to assist those claimants who need to make modifications to their Home or Motor vehicle or relocation. Maximum benefit $20,000.
- Loss of Income Benefit increased to $250 per week.
Season 2012
- Limit for Paraplegia and Quadriplegia, whilst playing or training only, increased to $250,000 from $100,000

Death & Disablement |
Under this section of the policy a schedule of benefits applies in the event of Death or Permanent disability caused by an injury detailed in the Flyer and Policy Document Attached.
A limit of $20,000 applies under this section for persons aged under 18 years. Some examples of Disability paid as a result of injury are:

Student
|
Reimburses 85% of expenses incurred for home tutorial by a qualified tutor up to $200 per week. Medical certificates certifying inability to attend normal place of education and bonafide receipts must be supplied. Cover period is 52 weeks and a seven (7) day Excess applies |
Household Help Allowance |
Reimburses non-wage earners 85% of expenses incurred for home help and child minding up to $200 per week. Medical certificates certifying inability to attend to usual household duties must be supplied. Cover period is 52 weeks and a seven (7) day Excess applies. |
Parents Inconvenience Allowance |
When a dependent child who is a full time student under the age of 18 years is hospitalised, the policy pays the parent/guardian $25 per day to offset costs of visitation. Proof of hospital admission and discharge dates must be supplied. An Excess of 24 hours applies and the maximum benefit is $1500. |
Modification Benefit |
If an insured person is paid a Capital benefit under any of the payable conditions 2,4,5 or 7 of the Capital Benefits scale, we will also pay for the cost necessarily incurred by the insured person in modifying their Motor vehicle, their Home or costs in relocating to a suitable home, up to a maximum of $20,000. |

A Claim form is available below and must be completed and submitted to the Insurer within 90 days of the injury.

Top-up Option
Players are encouraged to consider increasing their Loss of Income benefit above the standard limit of $250 per week for 52 weeks.
This option is available on a “per team basis” & we are pleased to inform you that BJS have negotiated reduced premiums for Seasons 2010 & 2011 for Teams/Clubs wishing to take up this option.
